Trip to Setúbal, Portugal

Day 1: Arrival in Setúbal

Upon arrival in Setúbal, check-in to your hotel and get settled. Take some time to wander around the city center and appreciate the relaxed atmosphere of this charming town. Stop by Praça do Bocage and admire the neoclassical fountain and the stunning church. For dinner enjoy a meal in one of the local restaurants serving fresh fish and seafood.

Day 2: Discovering the city of Setúbal

Wake up to a perfect day in this beautiful town and start your day with a visit to the São Filipe Fort – a historical military fortification, and a national monument. Here, enjoy the incredible views of the city of Setúbal, the Sado Estuary, and the Arrábida mountain. Then explore the unique Arrábida Natural Park, a protected landscape with a rich biodiversity. Finish the day by strolling through the old town of Setúbal and indulge in some shopping.

Day 3: Exploring Sesimbra

Start your day by taking a bus to the quaint town of Sesimbra. Here, visit the picturesque fishing village, the castle, and cliffs that offer incredible views of the clear blue sea. Take in the stunning natural scenery of the Arrábida National Park before returning to Setúbal. While in Sesimbra do not forget to sample delights such as grilled fish and fruity wines.

Day 4: Discovering the Arrábida scenic route

Today take a scenic drive through the Arrábida mountian range. Day 5: Visiting beaches of Tróia

Take a ferry across to Tróia peninsula, famous for its clear waters and soft sandy beaches. This stretch of coastline is dotted with picturesque fishing villages and dramatic cliffs. Visit Comporta beach, frequented by the locals for crystal clear waters and wide sandy beaches. Return to Setúbal for the night and enjoy a meal at a local restaurant or choose to have dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants.

Day 6: Winery tour in the Arrábida wine region

Today head on a winery tour in the Arrábida wine region. The wines in the region have unique flavors driven by the unique soil and conditions of the Mediterranean. Visit the Quinta da Bacalhôa Vineyard and Palace, home to a beautiful 14th-century palace and stunning gardens. Here, enjoy a wine-tasting experience and sample varieties like Moscatel, Castelão, and Arinto.

Day 7: Departure from Setúbal

On the final day, visit one of the many classic boutiques and souvenir shops around the city, making sure to purchase some unique and authentic mementos from Portugal. Afterward, check out of your hotel in Setúbal, and proceed to Lisbon for the next leg of your journey.
