Trip to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
Day 1: Arrival and Beach Time
Welcome to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico! After checking in at your hotel in the afternoon and taking some time to rest, head to the nearby Surfer’s Beach. This is a great first-day activity as it is conveniently located and gives you a taste of the beautiful beaches that Aguadilla has to offer. Day 2: Explore Aguadilla’s Historic Downtown
Start your second day in Aguadilla with a visit to the town’s historic downtown. Take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque streets to admire the beautiful colonial architecture and stop at the San Carlos Borromeo Cathedral, one of the town’s iconic landmarks. After that, head to the Punta Borinquen lighthouse. This is a great spot to enjoy stunning views overlooking the ocean while learning about the area’s history and importance.
Day 3: Go Scuba Diving in Crash Boat Beach
Crash Boat Beach is the most popular beach in Aguadilla and you don’t want to miss it on your trip. Take a dip in the turquoise waters or rent a paddleboard or snorkeling gear. But the highlight of this day is the opportunity to go scuba diving and explore the vibrant marine life and underwater caves. The surrounding areas are home to many varieties of fish, turtles, and colorful corals.
Day 4: Go Hiking in Guajataca Forest Reserve
For day four, let’s take a break from the ocean and enjoy the lush greenery of Guajataca Forest Reserve. This reserve is home to many hiking trails that range from easy to difficult, so choose one that suits your level of activity. You can take a guided tour or explore on your own. On the hike, you will get an up-close look at the flora and fauna of Puerto Rico, from swaying palms to tiny coquí frogs.
Day 5: Visit the Beautiful Crash Boat Beach
Today you will return to Crash Boat Beach, this time with a focus on relaxation. Grab lunch at one of the local kiosks, then relax with a book, take a nap under a palm tree or indulge in some shopping. Including in the area is a popular surfing break where you can watch the locals ride some waves.
Day 6: Surfing in Wilderness Beach
If you have any energy left on the final day of your trip, head to Wilderness Beach for a surfing lesson. This beach is located in the Rincón surfing region and is well known for its consistent waves. Wilderness Beach is the perfect spot for beginner and intermediate surfers, with experienced surf instructors that can help you catch a wave or two.
Day 7: Departure Day
Today is your last day in Aguadilla, so make sure you take some time to enjoy your last morning. After breakfast at the hotel, pack up your bags and make your way to the airport for your flight back home. If you have time in the morning, you can visit the beach or take a final stroll through the beautiful streets one last time.
