Trip to Gros Islet, Saint Lucia
Day 1: Arrival & Beach Relaxation
Welcome to Saint Lucia! Upon your arrival at Hewanorra International Airport, a private transfer will take you to your hotel in Gros Islet. Check-in and freshen up. Spend the rest of the day at the nearby Reduit Beach to unwind and relax. This is the most popular beach in Saint Lucia, with clear turquoise waters and golden sand. You can also embark on a snorkeling tour along the corals and the marine life. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby for lunch. End the day with a romantic beachfront dinner and exotic cocktails at one of the beach bars.
Day 2: Exploration & Sightseeing
Today, take a walk around the Pigeon Island National Park, one of the must-visit places in Saint Lucia. It is a historic site that once was a fort and a quarantine station during the 1700s. The park also features a museum, a restaurant, and a hiking trail that leads you to breathtaking views of Rodney Bay and the island. After spending the morning at the park, head to the Rodney Bay Marina to grab lunch at one of its several restaurants. In the evening, visit the Gros Islet’s Friday Night Fish Fry. This weekly event is a must for visitors, as it offers an authentic glimpse into local life, with live music, seafood, and drinks.
Day 3: Outdoor Adventure
Today is an outdoor adventure day. Start with an exciting ATV tour to explore the island’s lush rainforest and reach the volcanic, black sand beach on the east coast. The tour takes four hours and allows you to discover some of Saint Lucia’s wildlife, flora, and fauna. After that, visit the Enbas Saut waterfall for an off-the-beaten-track hiking adventure. This picturesque waterfall is surrounded by the jungle, and its cascading waters provide a refreshing swim. Back in Gros Islet, relax at your hotel spa to unwind from the day’s activities.
Day 4: Sugar & Rum Tour
Today visit the Fond Doux Plantation and Resort, a historic 250-year-old estate. Take a guided tour of the plantation, learn how sugar was produced in the past, and discover the secrets of Saint Lucia’s famous rum. You will also have the opportunity to taste fresh tropical fruits, local desserts, and of course, rum punch. Fond Doux is an active cocoa plantation, so you will also get to see the process of cocoa production and its transformation into chocolate. After the tour, relax on the plantation grounds, take a dip in its natural pools, and enjoy a Caribbean-style lunch.
Day 5: Catamaran Cruise
Today is a day to enjoy the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Take a catamaran cruise to see some of the most beautiful places in Saint Lucia. The cruise usually includes stops at popular locations such as Soufriere, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the majestic Pitons, two mountainous volcanic plugs that rise out of the sea; and Anse Cochon, a picturesque cove known for its coral reefs. You can also snorkel and swim in the warm waters and enjoy a barbecue lunch on board. In the evening, enjoy a romantic dinner at one of the many fine-dining restaurants in Gros Islet.
Day 6: Shopping & Market Visit
Today is a day of shopping and exploring. First, head to Pointe Seraphine, a duty-free shopping center located in Castries, Saint Lucia’s capital. Here, you will find an extensive collection of jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs at great prices. After that, visit the Castries Market, one of the liveliest markets in the Caribbean. This local market sells fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, handicrafts, and more. It is a great place to interact with locals, sample some of Saint Lucia’s exotic fruits, and take some great photos. In the evening, enjoy some drinks at one of the many bars in Gros Islet.
Day 7: Departure
It is your last day in Saint Lucia. Spend some time at your hotel, relaxing or take a stroll on a nearby beach. Later, check out of the hotel and proceed to Hewanorra International Airport for your flight back home.
