Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Upon your arrival in Subotica, you can check in at your hotel and take some time to relax after your journey. Subotica has several hot springs, and you can indulge in some relaxation at the Palic Lake Spa and Thermal Bath. The spa features several indoor and outdoor pools, thermal baths, saunas, and steam rooms, providing the perfect environment to unwind and recharge.
Day 2: Exploring the City Centre
Today, you can explore the city centre of Subotica. Begin your day with a visit to the Town Hall, which is an impressive example of art nouveau architecture. Next, head to the Subotica Synagogue, one of the most beautiful synagogues in Europe. The synagogue features stunning stained-glass windows, intricate carvings, and beautiful murals.
After that, you can go shopping in the city centre’s pedestrian zone, which is lined with boutique stores, cafes, and restaurants.
In the evening, don’t miss the chance to visit one of the city’s famous taverns, such as Kevi’s Pub, where you can enjoy some local wine, beer, or rakija (a traditional Serbian spirit) and listen to live music.
Day 3: Visiting the Palic Lake
Today you will be visiting the picturesque Palic Lake, about 8 kilometers away from Subotica. Palic Lake is a popular destination for tourists to Subotica because of its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
You can start your day by visiting the ZOO Palic, which houses more than 70 animal species, including exotic birds, rabbits, deer, and monkeys.
After that, you can rent a bike and explore the beautiful Palic Lake on your own. The bike ride will take you through scenic trails along the lake, where you will get to see beautiful villas, the Palic Castle and even a beautiful fountain.
Day 4: Learning about Serbian History
Today, you can take a trip to the Museum of Subotica, which is housed in a magnificent art nouveau building. The museum offers an insight into the history of this region through various exhibitions.
Next, head to the Letenka Wine Cellar, where you can take part in some wine-tasting activities. The cellar has the iconic traditional ambiance of a winery with beautiful wine casks and large clay jugs for wine storage. Later on, you can take a short drive to the Ludaš Lake, a protected natural reserve that is home to several bird species.
Day 5: Exploring Palić on a Horse-Drawn Carriage
Today you will be exploring the beautiful Palic lake on a horse-drawn carriage, making for a relaxing and unique experience.
The horse-drawn carriage will take you around the most picturesque points around the lake, allowing you to stop, explore, and take pictures as you may wish. Afterward, visit the Water Tower, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings from the observation deck.
Day 6: Excursion to Subotica’s surroundings
Today you will take an excursion to the surrounding towns including Gornji Breg, Palić and Karlovacko. Visit the famous Gornji Breg village where one of the few remaining Easter Egg craftsmen is still active. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the Easter egg tradition in Serbia and create your very own Easter egg.
Next, visit the famous Karlovacko brewery where you will have a chance to see how the famous beer is made.
Day 7: Departure
On your final day, check out of your hotel and make your way back home or to your next destination.
