Trip to Malaga, Spain
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Upon arrival in Malaga, you’ll check into your hotel and have the chance to unwind and relax after your flight. Take advantage of the hotel amenities, such as the pool, spa, or fitness center to rejuvenate and refresh yourself for the adventures that lie ahead. After relaxing, why not explore the neighborhood and familiarize yourself with the area. You can try some local cuisine and indulge in some shopping as there are great markets, shops and restaurants all around.
Day 2: Tour of Malaga
Today you’ll take a comprehensive tour of Malaga. Begin at the ancient castle of Alcazaba and discover its history as an Arab fortress. Marvel at magnificent views of Malaga from Gibralfaro Castle and then spend some time at the stunning Malaga Cathedral, nicknamed La Manquita (the one-armed lady) for its unfinished second tower. In the afternoon, explore one of Malaga’s many museums like the famous Picasso Museum or the Carmen Thyssen Malaga museum.
Day 3: Day trip to Marbella
Marbella is a must-visit destination on the Costa del Sol, located just 45 minutes from Malaga. Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast before taking a stroll through the historic streets of Marbella in the charming old town. Laze the day away on the golden sand beaches, shop around for designer labels on the glamorous Puerto Banus, an area in the city’s fashionable sector, and make sure to snap some photos by the symbol for Marbella, the statue of the world-renowned painter and sculptor Salvador Dalí. Finish the day with excellent seafood at one of the many waterfront restaurants.
Day 4: Malaga City Beach Day
After a busy day, you can decide to rejuvenate and unwind at one of the beautiful Malaga beaches today. The long, golden sand beaches and crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea provide the ideal backdrop for a day of sunbathing, swimming and relaxing. There are a number of different beaches in the area including Playa de la Malagueta, Playa del Palo, Playa de Artola and many more that you can choose to spend the day on.
Day 5: Ronda Day Trip
On day five, take a day trip to Ronda, one of the most beautiful towns in Andalusia. Just an hour and a half drive from Malaga, Ronda is famous for its deep gorge and spectacular views. Once you arrive, it’s recommended to start your day by walking across the Puente Nuevo, a new bridge built in the 18th century that straddles the Tajo de Ronda canyon. Continue to visit the the Arab Baths, The Mondragon Palace, and the Church of Santa Maria Mayor and the Bull Ring which one of the oldest in Spain.
Day 6: Shopping and Nightlife
Today you will spend the day exploring Malaga City’s shopping district with some free time for shopping and wandering around the city. You can buy souvenirs, art, leather products, and traditional clothing at the many shops located on Calle Marqués de Larios or the Atarazanas Market. If shopping isn’t your thing, there are many historical and cultural landmarks to explore sure to keep you entertained all day long. In the evening, grab dinner and then explore the local nightlife scene to see what Malaga’s bars and clubs have to offer.
Day 7: Departure
On your final day in Malaga, take some time to savor a traditional Spanish breakfast before checking out and saying goodbye to the vibrant city. If you have enough time, you can do some last minute souvenir shopping, relax at the beach or even visit some new spots in Malaga. You will head to the airport in good time to catch your flight home, carrying on cherishing the lovely memories from your trip.
