Trip to Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Day 1: Arrival and Beach Exploration
As you arrive at Bequia airport, you’ll be greeted with fresh ocean air, swaying palm trees and crystal-clear water. Spend your day exploring the different beaches throughout the island such as Princess Margaret Beach, Lower Bay, and Friendship Bay which feature an array of fun activities such as windsurfing, motorboating, and deep-sea fishing. You can also take a scenic hike to the old fort to get a better view of the surrounding islands and the turquoise water below.
Day 2: Exploring the Underwater World
Take a boat dive excursion to explore the underwater world of the Grenadines. You’ll be amazed by the stunning coral reef and tropical sea life, such as sea turtles and rays. If you prefer to stay above water, you can take a snorkeling excursion to the Tobago Cays where you’ll be able to experience some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean.
Day 3: Visit the Local Market and Beach Bumming
Start your day early and head to the bustling local market in Port Elizabeth where you can experience the vibrant culture of the island. After a bit of shopping, head to Lower Bay beach where you can leisurely relax on the sand, soak up the sun, and take a dip in the crystal-clear water. As the day winds down, grab a drink at one of the beach bars and enjoy the stunning sunset.
Day 4: Sail to Mustique Island
Spend the day by taking a sailboat to Mustique Island. Here, enjoy the luxurious lifestyle of the rich and famous. Visit the beautiful villas and stunning beaches, where you might just spot a celebrity or two. Enjoy lunch at the famous Basil’s Bar, known for its delicious food, cocktails and live music.
Day 5: Kayaking and Sunset Cruise
Rent kayaks and explore the beautiful marine life around the coast of Bequia. Take a break from kayaking and enjoy a picnic lunch on the secluded and exquisite white sand beaches. End your day with a sunset cruise around the island, giving you a different perspective of the breathtaking scenery of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Day 6: Stroll through Belmont and visit the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary
Take a stroll through the quaint village of Belmont, where you’ll get to witness the architecture of the traditional Caribbean homes. Visit the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary where you will learn about the unique environment of turtles and their conservation efforts. You will also get the opportunity to nurse and release baby turtles back into the ocean.
Day 7: Hiking to Mount Pleasant
For your final day, hike to the scenic Mount Pleasant for panoramic views of Bequia and the surrounding islands. This is the perfect location for your final Instagram pictures. In the afternoon, return to your hotel and take a final dip in the ocean and get a last-minute souvenir or two before packing up and leaving the beautiful island behind.
