Trip to Penghu, Taiwan

Day 1: Arrival in Penghu

On arrival at Penghu airport, you will be greeted by a representative and transferred to your hotel. After you have checked in and settled down, you can explore the nearby markets and food markets. Taiwanese cuisine is world-renowned, and Penghu island is famous for its speciality seafood dishes. Enjoy your first night with a hearty meal and local drinks under the stars at a beach-side restaurant.

Day 2: Snorkeling and Beaches

Penghu is famous for its clear blue waters and white sandy beaches. On day 2, you can head to the Chimei Marine Conservation Area, known locally as Chimei Island, where you can go snorkelling in the coral reefs. The island has spectacular views, and it is also possible to hire a bike to explore its villages and historical landmarks.

Day 3: Penghu Traditional Culture and History Tour

On this day, you will explore Ming Chuan University, Magong Rouhe Street and Xiyu Western Fort, which are historical landmarks rich with traditional culture and architecture. The university houses a folk museum showcasing Penghu’s culture and history as well as a beautiful garden. Magong Rouhe Street is the oldest street in Penghu, a living history museum, where you can find lots of local arts, crafts, and souvenirs.

Day 4: Island-Hopping

Today, you can enjoy some of the adventure activities Penghu has to offer. Start by visiting the Baisha Exhibition Hall, before heading to Guanyinting Recreation Area, famous for its dolphin-watching activities. Take a high-speed boat to explore the nearby island of Wangan for the rest of the day, which is known for its unique geological landscape and seafood options.

Day 5: Penghu local island life

Today, you’ll be visiting the Fishermen’s Wharf, which is an important industry on the Penghu islands. You’ll also visit Lintou Park, which has a long stretch of seawall, perfect for a stroll with panoramic views of the islands. You can enjoy early morning fishing or simply take some refreshing air while walking.

Day 6: Scuba Diving

On this day, you will go diving at one of the premier dive sites around Penghu Islands. Penghu’s coral reefs are home to a variety of aquatic species which can be seen during your dive. There are several diving centres that offer introductory or advanced courses. The warm water and great underwater visibility provide for some great diving experiences.

Day 7: Departure Day

On this day, it’s time to say goodbye to the island. After checking out from the hotel, you’ll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home. Spend your last few hours in Penghu buying souvenirs or simply strolling around the streets and make beautiful memories of your trip to Penghu.
