Day 1: Arrival and Night Bazaar
Welcome to Chiang Mai, Thailand! Today is your arrival day when you will spend time settling into your hotel, enjoying a leisurely lunch, and exploring the city’s hidden gems. After freshening up, you’ll visit the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. The vibrant displays of handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs, alongside the eclectic food trails, add a distinct vibrancy to the local culture. Bargain hard and try delicious street food at the night bazaar. You will find some of the best Pad Thai, Green Curry and Mango Sticky Rice here.
Day 2: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and Bhubing Palace
Today, you’ll visit one of the most revered Buddhist temples in Thailand, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Known for its stunning architecture, intricate carvings, and a breathtaking view of the city, the temple is a must-visit destination in Chiang Mai. After visiting Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, you’ll head over to Bhubing Palace, a winter residence for Thailand’s Royal Family. The property is known for its lush gardens, waterfalls, and striking architecture. The palace grounds are glistening with plantations of wildflowers, roses, and ferns; a perfect place to spend your afternoon.
Day 3: Elephant Sanctuary
Today you’ll spend the day at an elephant sanctuary! This experience will bring you up close and personal with rescued elephants who spend their time wandering through the park, feeding, and spending quality time with visitors. Observe traditional Thai style of living and bathing with elephants, make sure to also leave enough time to interact with the majestic animals. You will learn about their care, conservation, and have the opportunity to feed them a diet of banana, sugar cane and bamboo!
Day 4: Thai Cooking Class
Today, you will immerse yourself in the local culture by taking a Thai cooking class. Start the day with a visit to a local food market with your trained chef guide. You will learn to select fresh ingredients, like galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves. The cooking class takes place in an outdoor kitchen and consists of preparing and cooking 5 traditional Thai dishes. With the assistance of your experienced chef, you will make a Thai omelet, stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts, Tom Yum soup, green curry, and mango sticky rice. After finishing off the dishes, you’ll have a well-earned feast for lunch.
Day 5: Chiang Mai City and Temples Tour
Today, you will embark on a full-day guided tour of Chiang Mai’s most popular temples and tourist sites. Start the day by visiting the oldest temple, Wat Chiang Man, built in 1296. The temple houses two important Buddhist figures known as Phra Setangkamanee and Phra Phutmongkhon Mahamunni. Afterwards, visit the largest temple in Chiangmai called Wat Phra Singh. It’s known for its Lanna-style architecture and the second most important wihan in Chiang Mai. A short drive away, there is a temple on top of the mountain called Doi Suthep Temple, It is speculated that the temple construction was started in 1386, and took around 2,000 labourers and artisans 4 years to complete. Among the temple’s unique features are the elaborately carved dragon statues that mark the entrance of the sanctuary.
Day 6: Doi Inthanon National Park
Today, you’ll go on a private tour to Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in Thailand. You’ll explore the lush green landscapes on a scenic mountain drive through Mae Cham district. You will stop to visit Twin Royal Pagoda, King Inthawichayanon and King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Enjoy the stunning views and then head down to the highest point in Thailand called Doi Inthanon Summit. You will end at the Karen Hill Tribe Village where you’ll learn about their unique culture and handicrafts mastery.
Day 7: Departure
On your last day, depending on your flight time, take a stroll down South Gate Market as your last shopping spree. The market has a variety of handcrafted souvenirs, local foods, and art. This will be your last chance in Chiang Mai to grab a few last-minute gifts and souvenirs. We hope you enjoyed your stay and that you depart with memories that will last a lifetime. Your airport transfer will take you to depart from Chiang Mai International Airport for your onward journey.
