Day 1: Arrival and city exploration
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel to check-in. After freshening up, take a stroll through the streets of Chiang Rai, a laid back city known for its relaxed vibe and diverse cultural influences. Begin your exploration at the famous Chiang Rai Night Bazaar, where you can try some of the delicious street food that the city is famous for. From here, head over to Wat Phra Kaew, a stunning temple that dates back to the 14th century and houses the famous Emerald Buddha.
Day 2: White Temple and Black House
Start your day at Wat Rong Khun, or White Temple, a mesmerizing temple with intricate carvings and a stunning white exterior. From here, continue on to the Black House, an impressive complex made up of a series of small buildings and curated gardens, all designed by the celebrated Thai artist Thawan Duchanee.
Day 3: Golden Triangle and Mekong River Cruise
Today, embark on a scenic drive to the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet. Here, you can experience the breathtaking views of the Mekong River and explore the region’s unique culture. Afterwards, take a peaceful boat cruise down the Mekong River and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Day 4: Cooking Class and Hill Tribe Visit
Today you will have the chance to learn how to cook traditional Thai dishes in a cooking class. You will begin by visiting a local market to buy fresh ingredients, and then head back to the cooking school to learn how to cook some of Thailand’s most beloved dishes. Continue your adventure with a visit to a local hill tribe village, where you can learn about the fascinating customs and traditions of northern Thailand’s hill tribes.
Day 5: Doi Tung, Mae Fah Luang Gardens and Singha Park
Head out to the Mae Fah Luang Gardens and Doi Tung, a hilltop garden and royal villa with views of the surrounding countryside. Take a guided tour of the gardens which are known for their stunning display of plants and flowers from around the world. Afterward, visit Singha Park, a popular tourist attraction known for its beautiful landscapes, various activities, interactive tours, and refreshing natural atmosphere.
Day 6: Elephant Sanctuary Visit and Bamboo Rafting
Start your day at an elephant sanctuary where you can enjoy a unique experience feeding and interacting with elephants. Afterward, enjoy an exciting bamboo rafting experience along a gently flowing river, surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking mountain views.
Day 7: Departure
It’s time to say goodbye to Chiang Rai. Depending on your flight time, you can spend the day relaxing at your hotel, shopping for souvenirs, or savoring your last moments in the city. Later in the day, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
