Trip to Couva, Trinidad and Tobago
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Welcome to Couva, Trinidad! After checking into your hotel, take some time to relax and settle in. Stroll through the neighborhood and explore the local streets, parks, and restaurants. You might want to wander over to nearby Yara River for some beautiful views of the water and the local wildlife.
Day 2: Eco-Adventure
Couva is located right near the Nariva Swamp, a beautiful and exotic wildlife reserve. On your second day, take a guided tour through the wildlife reserve - it’s a great way to get up close and personal with all the amazing animals native to this region. You’ll see all sorts of animals, including rare birds, monkeys, and other creatures. The tour guides are very knowledgeable about the animals, and they’ll be happy to answer any questions you have. In the afternoon, head to the beaches of Mayaro to relax, swim or simply sunbathe.
Day 3: Shopping in the City
Today you’ll drive over to Port of Spain, the vibrant capital city of Trinidad and Tobago. Spend the day exploring the city’s markets and boutiques, including the popular Market on the Avenue, and many malls such as the West Malls, The Falls and the newly built C3 Centre. Get some local souvenirs while you are there because there are plenty of options to choose from. You will love the bustling energy of the city and enjoying the bustling energy of the place.
Day 4: The Caroni Bird Sanctuary
Today’s activity will be a nature-oriented excursion through the Caroni Bird Sanctuary. On this tour, you’ll take a boat ride through the beautiful mangrove forest, where you can spot scarlet ibis and other exotic birds. Spend the afternoon at the beaches of Chaguanas or Maracas Bay, where you can take part in a wide variety of water sports, including swimming, surfing, and paddleboarding.
Day 5: East Coast Waterfalls
On the fifth day of your trip, you’ll get to explore the beautiful natural assets of Couva. Hiking through Turure waterfalls and Mermaid pools is one of those experiences that you will never forget. Nestled deep in the jungle, surrounded by tropical foliage, the waterfalls are a refreshing reprieve from the heat, and you can even swim in the pool below them. The Mermaid pool is a mystique and enchanting waterfall that is perfect for meditating or just taking in the beautiful scenery.
Day 6: Nightlife
Couva’s nightlife scene is sure to impress even the most seasoned partier. On your last night in town, head out to any of the local lounges, bars and nightclubs and let your hair down for some fun night. Listen to some local calypso bands while having a cocktail, hit the dance floor, or simply relax with one of Trinidad and Tobago’s famous beers. You will love every moment of it.
Day 7: Departure
Today is your last day in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago. After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your flight back home.
