Day 1: Arrival and Leisure Time
Welcome to Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago! Upon your arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to relax before you start your adventure. Walk around the neighborhood, explore the local shops, and sample some of the tasty street food that is available. In the evening, you can take a stroll around the Queen’s Park Savannah for some fresh air and take in the sights of the city.
Day 2: Historical and Cultural Sites
This morning you will embark on a half-day tour of some of the most famous historical sites in Trinidad and Tobago. Start by visiting the Royal Botanic Gardens, where you can walk through the stunning gardens and learn about the diverse plant life on the islands. From there, head to Fort George to learn about the military history of the islands and take in some breathtaking views of the city. End the day with a visit to the National Museum and Art Gallery, which houses a collection of artefacts and artwork that represents the rich history and culture of Trinidad and Tobago.
Day 3: Maracas Beach and Waterfall Adventures
Today you will venture out to Maracas Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in Trinidad and Tobago. You’ll have the opportunity to swim, relax or rent jet skis, umbrellas or chairs (at your own cost). At midday, you can try some of the local dishes, like shark and bake or doubles. After the beach, visit the Maracas Waterfall, take a peaceful hike and experience the serenity of the natural setting.
Day 4: Island Exploring and Food Tour
Today, you will embark on a full-day tour to explore the island, including a visit to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary to witness the national bird in its natural habitat. Afterward, you will return to Tunapuna to explore the village’s surrounding areas and experience an authentic Trinidadian food tour. You will sample traditional food like roti and callaloo while learning about the cultural significance of each dish.
Day 5: City Tour and Culinary Experience
Begin the day with a guided tour of the bustling urban scenery within Port of Spain, including Independence Square, The Red House, The Magnificent Seven, and Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Followed by a visit to the Chaguanas Market, where you can sample fresh fruits, pastries and purchase items such as souvenirs and cushion foot mats. In the evening, attend a culinary experience offering delicacies reflecting the numerous cultural influences over the years.
Day 6: Tyrico Bay and Nightlife Experience
Explore Tyrico Bay, located on the North Coast of Trinidad, considered one of the country’s best-kept secrets. Take a dip in the sea or walk on the beach, enjoying the sun, sand, and surf. In the evening, head over to Ariapita Avenue, home to a collection of bars, live entertainment, and restaurants. Enjoy an evening of live music with locals and visitors alike.
Day 7: Departure
