Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

Day 2: Historic Landmarks

Visit the iconic Atakule Tower, built in 1989. This towering structure provides an amazing 360-degree view of the city. A museum is located on the first floor, dedicated to the history of Ankara. Next, head over to Anitkabir (The Atatürk Mausoleum) which is a beautiful and grandiose structure that stands out in Ankara’s skyline. The mausoleum is the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey. After that, explore the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, a museum nestled in a restored caravanserai, showcasing the intricate history of civilizations from the Neolithic Age to the Classical Period.

Day 3: Dining and Shopping

Visit the popular Karum Shopping Mall and get a taste of Turkey’s vibrant nightlife. This mall has shops for every taste, from affordable to luxury. After shopping, grab a savory traditional Turkish kebab in one of the quaint nearby restaurants. If you want a more refined dining experience, explore Nusr-Et Steakhouse, which is an internationally renowned restaurant located in the heart of Ankara.

Day 4: Cultural Experience

Head over to the Kocatepe Mosque, the largest mosque in Ankara, and learn about the Islamic culture. The Kocatepe Mosque has magnificent Ottoman architecture and is located in one of Ankara’s central avenues. After that, visit the Ankara Ethnography Museum, which exhibits Turkish lifestyle and culture; this high-quality museum is very informative and helps provide some context of what you see in the country.

Day 5: Ankara Castle

Today, take a stroll through Ankara Castle and feel the distinctive Ottoman architecture. The castle dates all the way back to the 7th century, and it has been standing tall in the cluster of old Ankara houses for hundreds of years. Besides being a historical landmark, the castle provides great views from the top.

Day 6: Park and Nature

Visit Genclik Park, which is an amusement park situated in the heart of Ankara. The park has a roller coaster and many other attractions suitable for families. For a more calming experience, you can explore one of Ankara’s parks such as Harikalar Diyari, a vast hiking trail in the mountains that overlooks the city, or Botanical Park, which has an impressive variety of floras.

Day 7: Adios Ankara

Pack your bags, check out of your hotel, and proceed to the airport for your flight home.
