Day 1: Arrival & Night Market

Welcome to Nam Dinh! Upon your arrival at Nam Dinh’s airport, you will be transported to your hotel by car. After check-in, you can explore the city’s night markets, which are open until late at night. Vietnamese people are known for their love of street food, and you will find a wide array of delicious local delicacies, such as Nem Ninh Hoa (spring rolls wrapped in banana leaves) and Xoi Chien Phong (fried sticky rice balls) to try.

Day 2: Exploring the city and Van Trinh Cave

Begin exploring the city sights by visiting the Nam Dinh Museum, which is situated in the center of the city. The museum contains a collection of items from Nam Dinh’s history, culture, and people. Next, head to the Van Trinh Cave, which is about an hour’s drive from Nam Dinh, and is famous for its natural beauty and the variety of stalactites and stalagmites. At the cave site, you can rent a boat to explore the stunning scenery of the underground river system on your own.

Day 3: Bac Di Pagoda & Temple of Literature

On the third day, visit the Bac Di Pagoda, known for its tranquil beauty and architecture. The temple is located in the heart of Nam Dinh city, and it was built in the 13th century, and has impressive shrines and courtyards. Then, head to the Temple of Literature, one of the most historic sites in Nam Dinh. The temple has a rich history, having been constructed in 1070, and it was home to the country’s first university.

Day 4: Exploring in Hoa Lu

Today explore the historic capital of Vietnam, Hoa Lu, which is located 13km away from Ninh Binh. Here you’ll find significant historical sites such as the Temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang, the Tomb of King Dinh Tien Hoang, the Temple of King Le Dai Hanh, a statue of Emperor Le Dai Hanh and a statue of King Dinh Tien Hoang. Near the area is also Mua Cave, a beautiful cave with some wonderful views from the top, accessible after taking a short hike.

Day 5: Get inspired by the Red River Delta and Thanh Mai Pagoda

Today you have a day trip to the Red River Delta, one of the most captivating areas of Vietnam. One of the highlights is the Thanh Mai Pagoda, located in the Ninh Binh Province. The pagoda is famous for its traditional Vietnamese architecture, especially its rooftop, which features intricate carvings of dragons and other mythical creatures. The area is also home to colorful fields of flowers.

Day 6: Enjoy the great outdoors and get adventurous

On day 6, enjoy the great outdoors and the countryside of Nam Dinh, and get a chance to experience the local way of life. The area around Nam Dinh has many beautiful forests and parks that are perfect for hiking, biking, and exploring. Some recommended outdoor activities include rock climbing at Tam Dao National Park and taking a boating trip down Tien River.

Day 7: Return Journey
